Can we talk about how 90s Honda parts are getting impossible to find for cheap?

I was real skeptical when this old timer at the junkyard told me Civics from the 90s were drying up fast. I figured there would always be a few beaters around. But after checking three different yards in Akron last month, I found exactly one 1995 Civic and it was stripped down to the frame rails. Even the aftermarket stuff is going for double what it did five years ago, like a basic distributor cap set me back $40. Anyone else having trouble finding parts for their old Hondas?

Oh man yeah it's brutal out there for 90s Honda parts now. I heard from a buddy who works at a parts distributor that they stopped making most of the stuff for those models like five years ago so what's left is just old stock or scrap. Feels like everyone and their mom is trying to flip a Civic now too which is making prices stupid high.

Used to think people were overreacting about this, but after hunting for a simple brake caliper for my 98 Civic and coming up empty handed, I get it now. This shortage is real and it sucks.
