My Old Ford Ranger Had a Fuel Tank That Hung Too Low
I drove over a curb in a grocery store parking lot and it ripped the fuel tank strap right off. Ford put the tank below the frame on those 90s Rangers and one good bump could leave you stranded. Has anyone else had a gas tank mount fail on a late-model truck?

...and honestly I wonder if it's more common than people realize, just nobody talks about it cause they fix it themselves. I helped a buddy swap a tank on a 94 Ranger and the whole bracket setup was just asking for trouble with how exposed it was. You gotta watch those parking lot curbs and speed bumps like a hawk, the clearance on those trucks is awful for something that important. Ford definitely cut some corners back then with where they hung the fuel system, its not like it was a secret at the time either.
