lol that's absolutely wild actually. six months of driving on a blown head gasket sounds like a ticking time bomb every time you hit the gas. how did the engine not completely grenade itself before you even got to the shop? sounds like you got lucky with a Subaru that was just stubborn enough to keep going lol.

Subarus are like that friend who shows up to the party with a flat tire and three missing teeth but still manages to have a good time. Mine was running on what I called the "hope and antifreeze" method for way too long. Every time I hit a hill I'd just pray the temp gauge stayed in the safe zone. The mechanic said the only reason it didn't blow up is because I kept adding stop leak every other gas fill up like a ritual sacrifice.
