Lost $120 on a van rental because I only carry cash
Booked a cargo van for a weekend move in Phoenix, paid the deposit in cash like I always do. The guy at the lot swore cash was fine, but when I returned it he claimed a scratch was already there and kept my $120. No receipt, no card to dispute, nothing but my word against his. Has anyone else gotten burned on a cash-only deposit where you had zero paper trail?
