Did that actually make you rethink cash spending? I had a similar moment when I started using envelopes for things like groceries and gas, it really forces you to see the money leaving your hands. Cash just hits different than swiping a card, you know? I still keep a little bit for tips and small purchases, it keeps me from overspending.
