Sketching with cash made me appreciate each pencil more

Back then, saving up for supplies meant every stroke counted. These days, swiping a card just doesn't have the same weight.

Oh man, that's so true. I saved up for a sketchbook once and I was so careful with every single page. It felt totally different.

My friend bought this really nice leather bound sketchbook with thick paper. She carried it around for months but wouldn't make a single mark. Finally she just drew a tiny, shaky pencil circle in the very bottom corner of the first page. Said it was like breaking a spell.
