I finally set rules for my dad borrowing my work truck.

That kale story is a perfect picture of why boundaries dissolve. Your mom turning your kitchen into a green crime scene is exactly what happens when we cave. I swear, family businesses operate on a different set of rules where your stuff becomes community property. Helping find another solution is nice, but sometimes you just have to say no and deal with the grumpy texts.

Pro tip: Over-specific prompts are crushing your original plots.

That rusty bike thing made me remember something. Last month I found a crumpled grocery list in a parking lot, just stuff like "eggs, duct tape, cilantro." Ended up writing a whole flash piece about a person preparing for the weirdest day of their life. Never would have come up with that if I tried to plan it out from the start. Sometimes the best ideas are just lying around.

Rant: My friend confessed something huge and I nearly blabbed

Sometimes these big confessions are just regular stuff with extra drama. People call things "huge" when it's maybe just a work complaint or a mild crush. Unless it's truly dangerous, the world probably won't end if it slips out.

Unpopular opinion: Owners who hire mechanics with no real passion just to save cash are wrecking shops

It kills your reputation when bikes come back messed up. Customers won't return after a bad experience.

Sketching with cash made me appreciate each pencil more

Remember saving for one and then being too scared to draw in it.
