Switched from swiping plastic to envelope budgets after a $350 overdraft hit in June
I used to just glance at my bank balance and hope for the best, but now I split my cash into labeled envelopes every payday. Anyone else find that physically seeing the money shrink keeps you from overspending on takeout?

The envelope system saved me too after I got hit with a $400 overdraft. I actually write the date and amount on each envelope so I can see exactly where my money went at the end of the month.
