For 6 years I thought cheese belonged in the door, then my milk went sour early and I checked the temp
I kept my cheddar and butter in that little door shelf in my Kenmore in Austin, and last week my milk started tasting off two days before the date while the cheese was sweating in its wrapper. I grabbed a $12 fridge thermometer and found the door sits at 44 degrees every time the compressor kicks on, way warmer than the 37 I get on the middle shelf. Should I just move all dairy to the back of the bottom shelf and lose the handy door spot, or is there some dairy that really is fine living in the door?
