My roommate's comment about my old takeout containers finally made me clean the fridge out
I had five different containers of leftover Thai curry hidden in the back of the top shelf for like 3 weeks and my roommate just said "you know that's a science experiment now, right?" last Saturday. It hit different because she wasn't being mean about it, just stating a fact that made me realize I was letting food rot instead of just freezing the extra portions. Anyone else have a friend or family member drop a simple line that actually got you to change your fridge habits?

Used to think leftovers were fine forever. This post changed my mind.

Oh man, same here! I used to think leftovers were basically immortal until I found a container of pasta in the back of my fridge that had its own ecosystem growing in it. I honestly thought "well it still smells kinda okay" and almost ate it before my roommate stopped me. Now I have a strict 4 day rule on my fridge and if I can't remember when I cooked something, it goes straight in the trash. My stomach thanks me for it even if my wallet doesn't lol.
