Vent: Spent $80 on 'eco-friendly' bamboo toothbrushes that started molding in 2 weeks
Thought I was doing a good thing switching from plastic to bamboo. Ordered a 6-pack from some online shop that claimed they were 'all natural and biodegradable'. By day 10, the handles had these little black spots. By day 14, full on fuzzy mold growing where my thumb holds it. Tried scraping it off but it just came back. Now I'm back to plastic brushes and I feel guilty but at least they don't grow fungus. Anyone else run into this with bamboo stuff or did I just buy from a bad brand?

Oh man, that is so frustrating! I totally get why you'd be annoyed after spending that much money. I've bought bamboo kitchen stuff before and had the exact same problem with mold spots showing up way too fast. It's not just you, those cheaper bamboo products really don't hold up well if they get damp at all. Honestly, I've learned the hard way that you gotta dry them off completely after every use or they just go bad.

You got any tips for drying them that actually work without being a hassle? I've tried leaving mine out on the counter but they still seem to get gross after a few months.
