Nearly snapped a $400 endmill because I forgot to blow off the vise

Last Thursday at the shop in Dayton I started a new run of 6061 brackets and didn't clean the chips off the parallels. Heard that nasty chatter 30 seconds in and caught it just before it turned into a 3 inch crater in the part. Anyone else ever save a tool by pure dumb luck?

$400? Man I would have had a heart attack right there on the spot. That's not a cheap oops, that's a serious chunk of money sitting in a holder. You must have felt that chatter in your teeth when it started. I've had that moment where you hear something wrong and your whole body just freezes up for a split second. Lucky you caught it before it sent that endmill into orbit. I've seen guys snap $50 tools and they still get that sick feeling for the rest of the shift.
