Old Mazak controls vs new ones, night and day difference
We swapped out our old 2005 Mazak for a 2023 model last month and the before and after is wild. The old one needed 3 tries just to load a program without faulting, plus I had to babysit the tool offsets every shift. The new one holds tolerance like it is nothing, same parts, same feeds, and I only touched it once in 40 hours of run time. Is this just newer machine magic or did I get stuck in a time warp with outdated tech for too long?

Betting my old machine couldn't even find its own ass with a map and a flashlight, but that new one just runs and runs. I used to knock on the control panel like it was a broken vending machine to get it to wake up. Congrats on only touching it once, that's basically a vacation in this trade. Makes me wonder how much scrap I made over the years just fighting the old software, honestly.
