That week I accidentally deployed to production on a Friday... and it somehow went fine
So I was 3 months into learning Python and building a little dashboard for my friend's bakery. On a Friday afternoon I thought I was pushing to a test server but nope, it went straight to the live site. The whole thing actually worked and nobody even noticed except my friend who said 'hey the menu looks faster now.' I sat there sweating for 20 minutes before I realized nothing broke. Has anybody else had a dumb beginner mistake turn out okay by pure luck?

Did you know there's actually a whole term for this in tech - "friday deployment" where people joke that it never works out? I read somewhere that most companies have strict policies against it for good reason. You basically hit the lottery with that bakery dashboard, and I bet your friend's site probably needed whatever optimizations you accidentally pushed.

Man, you are so spot on. My old manager used to literally print out the friday deployment meme and tape it to the breakroom fridge every week as a warning. We had this one time where I fixed a typo on the homepage of a client's site, right before the weekend, and then their whole e-commerce cart went down until Monday. Turned out my tiny CSS change somehow interfered with their payment plugin. So yeah, you definitely hit the lottery with that bakery thing and that friend's site was probably begging for some sort of maintenance. I swear, computers just know when it's the weekend and act up on purpose.
