Warning: my first real project broke 2 hours before I had to demo it
I spent 3 weeks building a simple inventory tracker in Python for my buddy's small shop. The database corrupted right before his team meeting and I had nothing to show. Has anyone else had a project blow up right when you needed it most?

I saw a post somewhere about a guy who lost his whole startup database 30 minutes before a pitch meeting. He said the backup file was corrupted too. That's why I always keep three copies now - local, cloud, and a physical drive I unplug between backups. Way I see it, if you got through the demo once, you can rebuild it faster the second time around.

Three copies is the way to go honestly. That physical drive you unplug is probably the smartest move though (keeps ransomware off it too). Even the cloud backups can get messed up if something syncs wrong first. Learned that one the hard way back in 2019, what a nightmare. It's that last offline copy that saves you when everything else goes sideways.
