Man, my buddy Marco told me about this exact thing. He went back to visit family and his favorite spot, this tiny place run by an old guy named Franco, was gone. Franco just poured straight shots, no menus, and it was like a buck. Now it's some sleek cafe charging five euros for a frothy drink in a glass.

Yeah, saw the same thing in Lisbon last year lol. My go-to spot got bought out by a chain with avocado toast. Really kills the character of a neighborhood.
