Update: I finally get the hype around light roast coffee

For years, I only drank dark roast because I thought it meant stronger flavor. Tasting a bright, fruity light roast from a local roaster completely flipped my view on what coffee can be. What's one coffee belief you turned around after trying something new?

Every light roast I've tried just tastes like hot water.

Maybe your water's too soft.

Wait, hot water?! No way that was a proper light roast then. The good ones burst with wild flavors - I had one last week that tasted exactly like blueberry jam. You must have gotten some really stale beans or a bad batch.
