inJust wasted $175 on a 'universal' torque wrench adapter that stripped a bolt head
Universal solutions usually end up creating more specialized problems.

inThe office coffee pot is not a science experiment, people
That idea about dumping it after an hour... I always thought that was a waste. My old view was that coffee is coffee, just reheat it. But seeing a timer on the counter actually changed my mind. It forces a real choice instead of just ignoring the old pot. Now the coffee is always fresh, and nobody has to drink the burnt stuff. It turns out dumping a little coffee saves a lot of bad moods.

inMy tent zipper gave out in a thunderstorm at Lake Tahoe
Watched my buddy's tent basically explode at Joshua Tree. A gust caught it just right, snapped two poles like twigs, and the rain fly tore clean off. He spent the whole night wrapped in a tarp under a picnic table, listening to the fabric whip around in the dark. Makes you wonder why some tents cost so much but can't handle a little wind, you know?

inHit exactly 1,000 hours of exposure on my Andromeda shot
That's a wild coincidence with the 1,000 hours. Makes the three years feel worth it.

inMy big presentation to the board went sideways last Thursday
Had a projector die during a pitch to a new client. I dropped the slides and just talked them through the problem my product solved, using a whiteboard and a pen from my bag. It felt more like a real conversation and they actually bought in. Like @robertb30 said about the play, sometimes the show has to go on without the tech. Own the mess, keep it simple, and focus on your core message. People remember how you handle the crash more than the crash itself.
