Rant: Trade school beat my 4-year degree hands down

I dropped out of university after one semester, went to a welding program for $3,200 instead, and had a job offer before I even finished. Has anyone else found that a 6-month certification got them further than a bachelor's ever would?

The whole "had a job offer before I even finished" part says it all. A trade school cert gets you working and earning while degree grads are still hunting. That's a win in my book.

Exactly the same thing happened with my welding program. I had three offers before the last week of class and started the Monday after graduation. My buddies with bachelor's degrees are still sending out resumes while I'm already a year into my career.
