My comic shop's new owner just started a 'no gatekeeping' rule
Last week at Gotham Comics in Springfield, the new manager put up a sign saying 'All questions are good questions, no shaming new readers.' It was a huge relief because three years ago I felt too dumb to ask about the different Green Lanterns. Has your local shop done anything to make new fans feel more welcome?

Tell me more about what the sign actually says. Is it just a general rule or does it list specific examples of gatekeeping they won't allow, like making fun of someone for starting with a movie?

Read an article last week about shops doing stuff like this. I mean, it makes total sense because comics can be super confusing to jump into. My old shop had this vibe where you felt dumb for not knowing every single detail. Maybe it's just me, but a simple rule like that probably stops a lot of eye-rolling and sarcastic comments. It's a good move to keep the hobby alive instead of scaring people off.
