Question about the old comic shop in my hometown

I visited the place I bought my first X-Men comic 20 years ago, and the whole front window is just Funko Pops now, which got me thinking about how the stuff we collect as fans has really changed (you know, from floppies to figures).

Yeah, but with the vinyl comeback now.

Isn't it just the cycle of everything? We all get tired of the new, shiny thing and start missing the old stuff. Feels like we're just digging through the past for a bit of comfort.
