That $300 omnibus I grabbed in 2019 still gets read more than my floppies
Picked up the full Brubaker Captain America run in one giant hardcover at a con in Portland. Paid like $300 on a whim and honestly thought I'd regret it. Five years later I've probably reread it twice a year while my single issues sit in boxes. Does anyone else find themselves going back to the big collections way more than the monthly books?
Same here. That deluxe Absolute Preacher set I grabbed years ago gets pulled off the shelf constantly, while my bagged and boarded singles from that era just collect dust in the closet. There's something about having the whole story in one place that makes it way easier to just dive back in, especially when you want to reread a specific arc without hunting through twenty separate issues. It turned into my lazy Sunday reading material and honestly I get more enjoyment out of it than most of my recent floppy pulls.
