The comic shop clerk who said my pull list was too big, he had a point

This guy at my local shop in Portland told me last spring that I was adding too many new #1s every month and I'd burn out. I laughed it off and kept my pull list at like 22 titles. By August I was reading maybe 3 of them and the rest just piled up in a box, I felt guilty every time I walked past it. I finally cut it down to 8 books and dropped the ones I only grabbed out of habit, and now I actually look forward to Wednesday again. Has anyone else hit that point where the hobby turns into homework, and how many titles do you keep on your pull list now?

My buddy Mike did the exact same thing, had like 30 books and one day realized he was just moving them from the store to a shelf without reading a single one. He cuts it down to his core 5 now and says he actually gets a little sad when he finishes his stack on Tuesday night, which is way better than the guilt pile.
