The time I forgot the key issue number at a con in Chicago and lost a $50 signing spot
I was standing in line at C2E2 last spring, realized I left the specific issue of Swamp Thing at the hotel, and had to watch the guy behind me get his book signed while I just stood there holding a blank cover I paid fifteen bucks for; has anyone else ever blanked on a convention day like that?

Buddy of mine drove four hours to a con and forgot his entire longbox in the trunk.

Man, I feel that pain. Had a similar moment at a small show in Portland where I brought the wrong volume of Miracleman, just stood there like a fool while my buddy got his Alan Moore era stuff signed. It's that hollow feeling when you see the next person in line step up and you're stuck holding something you don't even want. The worst part is you never forget that book or that spot... it's branded into your brain forever.
