TIL a $3 back issue at a flea market in Ohio changed my whole pull list
I was digging through a dollar bin at a flea market outside Columbus last Saturday and grabbed a random issue of The Question from 1987 just because the cover looked cool. Read it that night and realized I'd been sleeping on Denny O'Neil's whole run, so now I'm hunting down every back issue I can find online. Has anyone else had a random cheap book completely redirect what you collect, or am I just late to this party?

Man that is exactly how it happens! Dollar bins are dangerous in the best way because you grab stuff you'd never pay real money for, and then boom, you're hooked. I had the same thing happen with a beat up copy of Suicide Squad I got for a buck, ended up chasing the whole Ostrander run for like two years. That Question run is no joke either, O'Neil wrote that book like a straight up detective noir and it totally works. Honestly those cheap random grabs teach you more about what you actually like than any top ten list ever will. You're not late at all, you just found it the right way.
