TIL I was reading comics wrong for 15 years and a kid at a con in Denver showed me why
I used to read every panel out loud in my head like a movie script and it made big fight scenes feel so slow. Last month at a con in Denver this 12 year old next to me at a dollar bin told me to just let my eyes jump around the page and take in the art first. I tried it on a old X-Men book and finished a whole issue in like 6 minutes instead of 20. Turns out I was treating the words like the main thing and the art like decoration. Anyone else have a moment where you figured out your reading order was totally backwards?
