Went to the comic shop in Modesto and counted 6 dudes filming hauls for the same 3 books
Stopped by a shop on McHenry Ave in Modesto on a Saturday. Place was packed. But half the people there were not even reading. They were filming. I counted 6 guys in the first 20 minutes. All holding the same 3 variants up to a phone. Nobody cracked a book open. One guy bought 9 copies of the same issue. Said the cover was "fire" and he needed the flip cash. The owner just shrugged and rang him up. I get it, money is money. But is this really what a comic shop is now? A film set for resellers? Are your local shops full of this too or is Modesto just special?
