Talked to an old sat diver out of Houma last week who changed how I think about gear
He said the real skill is knowing when to get out, not how deep you can go. Made me rethink my whole attitude about pushing limits on a 120-foot job I did back in February. Anyone else have a run-in with a veteran that shifted your mindset on safety?

That old timer has a point but I think you're missing something. 120 feet is still a real dive even if it ain't deep. Just because it's not 300 feet don't mean the risk isn't there. Pushing limits is about knowing your gear and your body on that specific job not just the depth number. Sounds like he was really telling you to respect every dive no matter the size.

Been there myself. A good dive is a good dive whether it's 40 feet or 400. Respect the NDLs and your gas, that's what keeps you alive.
