Appreciation post: the weirdest driveway repair I ever saw

Two years back, a neighbor in my town hired a guy who said he could fix his cracked driveway with some 'special mix'. The before was a normal, busted slab. The after, six months later, was this lumpy, shiny purple surface that looked like a giant grape jelly stain. Turns out the guy used a bag of colored concrete meant for craft projects and mixed it with regular stuff. It hardened okay, but the color bled out in the rain for months. Has anyone else seen a finish go that wrong from a weird mix?

Ever think a weird fix could work? I used to think so, but that purple driveway story changed my mind. Some things you just can't mix.

Yeah that "purple driveway" thing got me too. I was all for trying weird mixes before but now I'm like nope, some combos are just a BAD idea.
