Learned a trick from an old finisher in Tulsa 6 years back for edging around drain covers
He kept a small sponge and a coffee can of water on his knee board and wiped his edger every other pass, said it saves you from tearing out the same corner twice. Been doing it ever since on every pour, anyone else got a little detail like that from somebody they worked with?
That thing about wiping your edger every other pass is real talk, saves you from tearing out the same corner twice. My old foreman made me keep a coffee can of water on the board too, and I thought it was dumb until I watched a corner blow out on a guy who didn't do it. Little habits like that don't get written down anywhere but they save your butt every time.
