That job in Phoenix taught me to never trust a green batch again
Ngl I been pouring concrete for 12 years and last month we had a 4 car driveway in Phoenix go sideways fast. The truck showed up fine but the mix was way too wet, we tried to add dry stuff but it was too late. Slumped all over the forms and we had to tear out 3 yards. Cost us 2 days and about $700 in materials. Now I always check the load ticket and do a slump cone test before we start, even if the dispatcher says it's good. Has anyone else had a bad batch that wasted a whole pour?

3 yards is a brutal tear out, that Phoenix heat just makes the slump go crazy.

Man, people REALLY sleep on how the dry air messes with your grip, not just the sweat. @noah415, everyone blames the heat but nobody talks about how a 3-yard putt on a baked-out green plays totally different than one with any moisture left. That's the real kicker when the slump hits.
