Drove past that abandoned hospital in Detroit three times before I noticed the antennas on the roof

I was visiting family near Detroit last month and took a wrong turn. Ended up near the old Metropolitan Hospital site that's been closed since 2012. What caught my eye was a cluster of antennas on the roof that looked way too clean and modern for a building that's been empty for 12 years. No security trucks around, no lights inside, but those antennas had fresh wiring running down the side. I counted at least 8 of them all pointed in different directions. Has anyone else seen weird equipment on supposedly abandoned buildings in their city?

Read a Reddit thread last month about towers popping up on empty buildings in Philly too.

Hell yeah, I saw the same thing in Cleveland last year. There was an old warehouse that had been boarded up for years, but someone put a brand new satellite dish and a few antennas up there with fresh cabling, no signs of anyone coming or going. It's weird how those things just show up on dead buildings with zero explanation.
