Found something odd at a truck stop chapel in Ohio

Honestly, I stopped at a Pilot off I-70 outside Columbus last Thursday and noticed the little chapel room near the restrooms had a camera mounted inside. Not a security cam by the door, but one pointed right at the seating area and the small altar. I asked the cashier about it and she just shrugged, said corporate installed them a few months back after someone left a suspicious package. But the angle feels weird, like it's recording anyone who goes in to pray or nap. Ngl, it made me wonder how many other truck stop chapels have the same setup and who's actually watching those feeds. Has anyone else seen cameras inside these places or am I reading too much into it?

Cameras are EVERYWHERE now, but the fact that they're putting them in the quiet little chapel spots where people go to be vulnerable feels like a whole different level. It's like every private corner we have left is getting watched for "safety" but really it's just data collection at this point.

The janitor, the security guard, the volunteer who opens up the doors in the morning. They get watched all day too, but nobody ever builds a camera to protect them from the public. The chapel cameras are just the tip of the iceberg, those folks never get a private corner, ever. So it's not just about losing our quiet spots, it's that we've accepted surveillance as the price of having anyone around at all. And that's a trade we never actually voted on, it just happened.
