I finally called out a flat earther at a bar in Columbus and it backfired hard

Was grabbing a burger at a dive bar near campus last Friday and this guy at the next table starts going on about how NASA faked the curvature shots. I jumped in thinking I'd drop some basic physics about horizon drop over distance, which I looked up a while back. But he pulled out a binder full of graphs and flight path data that I couldn't argue with on the spot. Ended up buying him a beer just to shut him up. Has anyone else walked into a debate like that and realized you were way out of your depth?

Man, @jakem98 called it - that guy was loaded for bear. I had a similar thing happen at a diner with a guy who tried to sell me on the moon landing being faked using a bunch of foil-wrapped cookies as props, and I just asked for the check.

Bro took a binder of flight path data to a bar fight. That's honestly the most committed flat earth move I've ever heard. Maybe it's just me but you probably walked into a flat earth meetup without knowing it, that guy was ready for you. Next time just nod and ask if he wants another round, saves you the physics homework.

Yeah the binder really seals it, that guy came fully prepared to defend a floating pizza crust planet.
