I realized I was getting my facts from the wrong places

I was deep into a rabbit hole about some old government project, and my buddy, who's a history teacher, asked me for my sources. I showed him a bunch of forum posts and YouTube videos, and he just pointed at his bookshelf and said 'try one of those'. It made me see that I was just listening to people who sounded sure, not people who actually knew. Anyone else have a moment like that that made them check where their info really comes from?

Oh please, books can be just as biased as any video. At least online you get different views fast.

You say you get different views fast online, but how do you actually know which ones are worth your time? The speed just means you get more bad takes mixed in with the good ones. Sorting through that mess takes more work, not less.
