PSA: That 'internet kill switch' theory I tested last week

I tried disconnecting my smart TV and router for 72 hours straight to see if the 'big tech shutdown' stuff had any basis. Oddly enough, my neighbor's WiFi started acting up at the exact same time, and he said his ISP blamed a 'regional outage.' Anyone else mess around with these prepper-style digital blackouts and notice weird patterns in their area?

@jamiegreen I get where you're coming from, but I think the regional outage thing is probably just a coincidence. My neighbor's wifi goes wonky all the time, and I've had my router off for way longer than 72 hours before with zero issues on his end. Sometimes a glitch is just a glitch.

...and that's the part that really gets me, the whole 'regional outage' excuse. I mean, your neighbor's wifi crapping out at the exact same moment you unplug your router? Come on, that's a little too specific to be a coincidence... makes you wonder if these companies are watching us more than they let on. I tried a similar thing last year, just turned off my phone and laptop for a weekend, and my car's GPS started glitching out and showing roads that didn't exist anymore. Something's definitely off, but nobody wants to talk about it because it sounds too crazy.
