Update: I was at the Denver airport last month and the weird murals in the main hall gave me a full body chill.
I was waiting for a flight and just kept staring at the one with the crying child and the dead soldier, which made me think about all the old stories about that place being built over some kind of bunker system.

Yeah, that mural is seriously messed up. I read a long article once about the artist, and he was into some dark conspiracy stuff about the New World Order. The whole airport is full of that kind of imagery on purpose. It's not just creepy by accident, it's supposed to make you feel uneasy and question things. They even have that weird blue horse with the red eyes out front. The place feels like a giant art project for some really paranoid ideas.

Oh man, you're totally right about it being on purpose. I saw a video where a guide pointed out all the hidden stuff, like the suitcases in that one mural have the names of dead children or something. The artist definitely wanted to put his whole paranoid worldview into the building. It's not just bad art, it's a message. That blue horse, Blucifer, actually killed its creator during construction. The whole place is a monument to some seriously weird ideas.
