Can we talk about the real cost of rework on a commercial site?
I was looking at a project closeout report for a 20-story build in Denver and the line item for rework was over $400,000. The project manager told me it was mostly from early trade work that got covered up before proper checks. That's a huge chunk of the contingency just gone. How do you guys catch those mistakes before the drywall goes up?

That number is crazy but it makes total sense. It's like the "measure twice, cut once" rule got forgotten on a huge scale. Honestly, this happens everywhere now, from building a deck to wiring a house. People are in such a rush to get to the next step that they skip the basic checks. You need a system where nothing gets covered up until the foreman from that trade and the super both sign off on it. Photos and checklists are your best friend before any insulation or drywall shows up.

Honestly the real cost is the trust hit. Once a buyer sees that kind of mess, they start questioning every single thing you did right too. Tbh it's a rep problem that lasts way longer than the fix.
