My crew swore by that new scheduling app but I thought it was just another fad

After seeing it cut two days off our framing phase on the Maple Street project, I'm a believer. Anyone else have a tool they doubted that actually delivered?

Remember doubting laser levels until one saved a whole wall.

What about tools that seemed too simple to be any good?

You ever feel like you're being sold a bill of goods when something seems too simple? That was me with a digital angle finder my foreman picked up. I figured it was just another gadget for guys who can't read a speed square, but after using it to nail the layout on a tricky roof pitch I was hooked. It was one of those things that just works with zero fuss, and it's cut my setup time in half without sacrificing accuracy. Sometimes the simplest tools are the ones that actually pull their weight on site.
