Rented the $900 hammer drill instead of buying it, worked out
Had a retaining wall job in Tacoma that needed a 2 inch core through 12 inches of old concrete. Looked at buying a rig for $1,800, but I only needed it for one weekend. Rented from the local shop for $89 a day, beat my timeline by 4 hours, and returned it with no maintenance worries. Anyone else hit that point where renting just makes more sense than owning?
That $89 covered what would've been a $1,800 paperweight in my garage after one job, and the shop even threw in the extra long bit for free when I mentioned the wall thickness.
