Vent: wrote off $2,400 pour-in-place countertop forms for 2 years, then my concrete guy in Fresno proved me wrong
I always figured the pour-in-place countertop kits were a gimmick and kept telling customers to just buy slab. Last month my concrete guy Rick in Fresno talked me into trying the Z Counterform system on a small bathroom vanity job, and the finish came out cleaner than anything I ever got with a 3/8 roundover bit on plywood. The real kicker was the edge, no chipping, no sanding for an hour, and I saved about 6 hours of labor on a $3,200 job. Anybody else been sleeping on these or is it just me?
Man, a buddy of mine out in Clovis ran those forms on a laundry room counter and said the same thing about the edges coming out clean off the rip. He figures the saved sanding alone paid for the forms on his second job, so it sounds like you two are onto something. Guess the old plywood and roundover routine is harder to let go of than it should be.
