Hit 50 press releases sent this April and realized I miss the fax machine days
I was logging my 50th press release of the year for our Chicago office and it hit me that I've now sent more releases this spring than I did in my first two years on the job back in 2009. Back then we had one writer, one editor, and a fax machine that jammed every Tuesday, and a single release took three days to clear. Now I'm pushing two or three a week through three approval layers and a Slack channel, and honestly the quality hasn't gone up, just the volume. My old boss used to say a good release gets picked up because a reporter trusts the person who sent it, not because it went out at 9am sharp. Is anyone else finding that more sends just means more noise, or is it just me?
