My boss kept pushing for 30 second internal videos and now the whole project is a mess
Our VP of comms said last quarter that every announcement had to be a video under 30 seconds because "attention spans are gone." I spent 3 weeks redoing the Q3 earnings summary and got zero feedback from employees, just a bunch of confused Slack messages asking where the numbers went. The one town hall call we ran in Milwaukee got more questions in 10 minutes than all our videos combined. Anyone else have leadership latch onto a format that totally misses what your audience actually needs?

Nailed it, my old boss did the same thing with "one slide memos" and everyone just stopped reading them completely. We went back to regular emails after a quarter because the whole team kept missing deadlines and asking what changed. People need real context and numbers, not a flashy clip that looks cool but says nothing.

Missing deadlines over a slide seems like a stretch.
