Our CEO sent a 900 word email and the whole company replied with emojis
Two weeks ago our CEO sent out a 900 word email about "the future of our culture" and instead of questions, people just started replying with emojis. One reply was a single thinking face. 47 people hit the same thumbs up. The comms team spent 3 days writing that thing and got less engagement than the free bagel announcement. Turns out long emails from leadership get skimmed, not read, and the emoji replies were basically the polite version of nobody caring. Next time we're doing a 2 minute video, but I want to know if anyone here has actually made one of those land with people.
Short video only works if the CEO actually talks like a human instead of reading a script. Ours did a 90 second one where he just answered real questions people sent in and it got way more replies than any email. Keep it under 2 minutes and skip the music and fancy edits, people can smell fake from a mile away.
