Spent $200 on a media monitoring tool and it saved my hide on a Friday afternoon
I was managing a product recall announcement for a client and needed to track pickup in real time. Dropped $200 on a 1 month license for Meltwater and honestly it was worth every penny. Caught a negative trend on Reddit within 2 hours that would have blown up by Monday. Has anyone else found a cheap tool that actually works for crisis tracking?

Oh man, $200 for Meltwater is actually pretty good for crisis tracking - most of their plans start way higher if you go direct. I just wanna gently point out that Meltwater's base plans are usually more like $500+ a month, so you probably got a trial or a promo deal. Still a solid win catching that Reddit thread, those weekend fire drills are the worst.

That Meltwater pricing can be all over the place. I had a similar experience @the_beth where I nearly signed up for what I thought was a $250 deal but it turned out to be a limited time promo for the first month only. Once that ended, the real price kicked in and it was way more than I could handle for a small team. I ended up switching to a cheaper service after that. Those fire drills are the worst, especially when you have to explain to the boss why a random Reddit post blew up on a Sunday afternoon.
