Shoutout to my sister for telling me to wait on lip filler
I was set on getting 1ml of lip filler for my 25th birthday. My sister, who had a bad experience with too much filler years ago, kept telling me to start with half a syringe, like 0.5ml. I was annoyed and thought she was just being overly cautious. I went ahead and got the full 1ml at a clinic in Austin. The result was way too much for my face. I looked swollen and unnatural for weeks, and it took over 6 months for it to settle down to a point where I liked it. She was totally right, and I wish I had listened. Starting small is definitely the smarter move. Has anyone else jumped into a procedure against advice and regretted the amount they got?

Man, this is the story of modern life. We're all so sure we know exactly what we want, and we treat good advice like an annoying speed bump. It happens with everything from home renovations to signing up for a new phone plan. You get a vision in your head and just want to go full speed to get it, but the people who tell you to slow down are almost always coming from a place of real experience. It's a hard lesson to learn the hard way.

Yeah that part about treating advice like a speed bump is so true lol. It reminds me of when I insisted on painting my own bedroom this dark charcoal gray because it looked cool online. My dad, who's painted like a hundred rooms, kept saying to get a sample pot first. I blew right past that and ended up with a room that felt like a cave. Took three more coats of primer and paint to fix it.
