Unpopular opinion: I was happy to see a 40 point drop on my report.

Wait, your score dropped FORTY points just from paying off a car? That seems crazy to me. My score only moved like five points when I paid off my student loan. What kind of scoring model are they even using that punishes you for being responsible? Does it matter which bank you had the loan with?

Crossed 1,000 hours on my primary surface supply unit this morning

Yeah, that muscle memory thing is real. I was reading an interview with a pilot once, and they said the exact same thing about hitting a certain flight hour mark. Your brain just offloads the basic stuff so you can focus on the bigger picture. It's wild how practice rewires you. You don't realize it's happening until you look back and see how much mental space you've freed up.

Shoutout to my sister for telling me to wait on lip filler

Man, this is the story of modern life. We're all so sure we know exactly what we want, and we treat good advice like an annoying speed bump. It happens with everything from home renovations to signing up for a new phone plan. You get a vision in your head and just want to go full speed to get it, but the people who tell you to slow down are almost always coming from a place of real experience. It's a hard lesson to learn the hard way.

Serious question, I think the 'finish the first draft no matter what' advice is wrong

Totally get that. Forcing a word count can turn writing into a chore instead of a creative outlet. Glad you found a rhythm that brings the story back to life for you.

I used to think cash was only for small stuff, but I paid my $1,200 car insurance bill with it last month.

My local grocery store got rid of their last cash-only lane last month. It feels like we're being quietly pushed into a digital-only world, whether we like it or not. That clerk's confused look is just the start.
