My cousin swears by that Tuesday afternoon trick too. I've never seen it actually work for me though. The whole thing feels like a travel myth.

Yeah, the "travel myth" part is spot on. I mean, I've tried all those little hacks over the years, like clearing cookies or using incognito mode. It always feels like you're just chasing a rumor and the prices barely move. Maybe airlines just change stuff whenever they feel like it.
