Spent $200 on a salon chair off Amazon... big mistake.
The hydraulics gave out after 3 weeks, almost dumped a client on the floor. Anyone else had luck finding affordable chairs that actually hold up?

$200 is pretty suspiciously cheap for a salon chair to be honest. Most commercial grade chairs start around $500 minimum. Those Amazon ones usually have plastic base plates instead of metal, and the gas cylinders are the cheapest imported ones they can find. I had a similar issue with a "professional" chair off there that started sinking after a month. The weight rating on those listings is usually total nonsense too.

Bought a used one from a beauty supply liquidation sale for $150 and it's been solid for 2 years now. Way better to hunt for those deals than gamble on cheap new stuff.
