My brick workout order was backwards for 8 weeks until a running coach pointed it out
I started doing brick sessions like bike then run, but I was hammering the bike part way too hard and then crawling through the run. A coach at my local YMCA in Dayton watched me one Saturday and said "you're racing the bike, not training for the run." That clicked. I backed off the bike to a steady effort, kept my cadence around 90, and suddenly my run splits dropped by almost a minute per mile. Took me 8 weeks of dumb suffering to figure out the point of a brick is feeling heavy legs and staying calm, not proving anything on the road. Anyone else make the same mistake when they first started stacking disciplines?
